For over fifty years, Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services has labored in Upstate NY to open eyes to a future beyond addiction, aid in the fight, and prove that recovery is possible.


C.A.R.S. approached me to rework their brand identity from the ground up. The challenge was myriad: Their client base was split—half recognizing the organization solely by a misleading acronym, and the other by its full name. The logo, on the other hand, portrayed a random star on an overly-detailed outline of New York and was in desperate need of an update.


For improved clarity, the new logo features both the acronym and the extended name. The mark alludes to the transformative concept of "turning a new leaf" while also resembling abstracted hands embracing.

The color palette is accented with cheerful Marigold and Lemongrass, symbolizing the hope of a brighter future.
